People living in institutions often feel that relaxation is out of reach; they have no plans for the summer. In 2022, we changed that. We take families and children in need to Lake Balaton so they can let go and unwind for a few days. Since we can’t take everyone, we bring the feeling of a ‘Balaton Summer’ directly to them: we organize Balaton-themed parties in the gardens of homeless shelters and children’s homes, complete with a lángos stand, ice cream, a small pool, corn on the cob, live music, and other programs.We’ve done this for three summers now—and you bet we’re keeping it going in 2026!
